That depends. Is your brain wired for analog or digital?
My brain is analog, or dinosaurian. Like some people, I struggle to remember my flashes of inspiration, but unlike most, I don’t have opposable thumbs. No! I mean I’m one of the few remaining creatures who builds piles of notes like monuments around my bed, in my purse, on the coffee table, etc. In the middle of a shower, I might yell to my mate to jot something down.
Then at some point (while writing, not showering), this big ol’ dinosaur lumbers around and gathers the monuments to carry to her lair. No wonder it took dozens of drafts to finish my first book.
I’d like to be more efficient, and that means using apps designed to facilitate writers’ processes and organization.
Hmm.
I’ll stick with my long production periods, including writing ideas on note paper and editing printed manuscripts—
