Ironically, my best ideas for writing often appear when my thoughts are elsewhere: i.e. drifting into sleep or watching a dumb show.
To get out of my head and give my eyes a screen break on a day of writing, I might get up and putter around the house or yard. Recently, I just kept puttering and puttering, feeling guilty for not parking my butt at my desk.
